DBD 2007 Information and Press

Mark your calendars for DINING BY DESIGN Boston 2008, Friday, December 5 and Saturday, December 6, 2008.

We are delighted to announce that DIFFA’s signature event DBD will return to Boston this winter. Once again, we will bring Boston's most extraordinary designers, artists, and personalities together to showcase their remarkable talents for creating astonishing tabletop environments.

The event is truly a feast for the eyes, body, and heart. As you can imagine, we are thrilled that CRI will again be the beneficiary of this remarkable event. With successful fundraising events like DBD Boston, CRI can continue leading the way in AIDS research.

Brought to you by Beringer Third Century, Benjamin Moore, Hewlett Packard, and Elit from Stolichnaya and sponsored by the New York Times, Architectural Digest, Gourmet, and Domino, this year’s event will be one of the most highly anticipated and glamorous events in the Boston design community.

Thanks to the commitment and generosity of the Boston Design Center, we are also thrilled to announce that the event will have a new and exciting addition. DBD Boston 2008 will feature a daytime public preview event, inviting the general public to tour Boston’s beautiful table environments and a unique opportunity to show at the Boston Design Center’s 87 remarkable designer showrooms before the Dining By Design Gala on Saturday, December 6.

If you would like to be a part of DBD Boston 2008, would like more information, or have any questions, please contact Erin Molloy at 617.502.1726 or emolloy@crine.org or or Cary Raymond at 617.899.3908 or caryraymond@earthlink.net.

DIFFA, founded in 1984 by Patricia Green and Larry Pond, is one of the country’s largest supporters of direct care for people living with HIV/AIDS and preventive education for those at risk. Merging care and commerce, supporters of DIFFA come from all fields of fine design and the visual arts, including: architecture, fashion design, interior design, photography, and consumer product design. With fundraising efforts bolstered by strategic partnerships and unique events showcasing innovation and creativity, DIFFA has mobilized the immense resources of the design communities and granted over $35 million to hundreds of AIDS service organizations nationwide. DINING BY DESIGN travels across the nation to eight different cities where the event raises significant funds to support direct care for people living with HIV/AIDS and preventive education for those at risk. In Boston, the funds raised from this new event will directly support CRI. Dubbed the “Cannes of Tabletop” by filmmaker John Waters, DIFFA’s DINING BY DESIGN is an opportunity for various corporations and designers to showcase their imagination and talents by creating unique dining installations to accommodate their dinner guests.
