CRI BOSTON
CRI Boston, the organization’s primary site, was established in 1990 and remains a leading-edge HIV/AIDS research facility offering clinical trials, treatment education, and financial assistance for approved drug treatments and health insurance coverage.
Led by world-renowned Research Director, Dr. Calvin Cohen, CRI’s research team has successfully enrolled and managed over 2,000 diverse participants in more than 150 clinical trials contributing to the FDA approval of nearly all of the medications currently available to people living with HIV/AIDS. Our Boston research team also includes Dr. Harry Schrager and Dr. Hannah Olivet.
CRI Boston serves the broad range of clients through referrals from primary care physicians, local college and university health offices, community health centers and academic settings. Staff at CRI Boston also manage the state's HDAP (HIV Drug Assistance Program) providing more than 4,000 Massachusetts residents with HIV/AIDS treatments and health insurance coverage.

August 2, 2010: Community Research Initiative of New England (CRI) announced today that it will transfer its Springfield-based HIV clinical trials to Baystate Medical Center (BMC) in Springfield, MA. CRI West’s current research team – led by Dr. Daniel Skiest and Dr. Armando Paez – will continue its state-of-the art HIV, viral hepatitis, and pneumococcal vaccine research at Baystate Medical Center as BMC becomes a collaborating CRI Research Network site.
